 Project Link projects in the Latin American region can be found below, sorted by country. Online contributions in support of these projects may be completed in one of four ways:

  1. A one-time gift charged to your credit or debit card,
  2. A recurring monthly gift charged to a credit or debit card, or
  3. A recurring monthly gift directly debited from your checking account, or
  4. A one-time mail-in gift.

Recurring monthly gifts will be processed the first day of each month, beginning with the month following sign-up.

Mission—Latin America

 
   La Trompeta Latin American Publications (42.30335)
  The editorial ministry of La Trompeta is crucial to the health and growth of the Latin American church. The magazine and other Church of God publications supply study materials and communication aids for extending the kingdom of God throughout Latin America. It is the only official publications arm of the Church of God serving Spanish-language countries of the world. (Annual Goal $4,600)
     
  Latin America Missionary Staff Conference (42.30400)
  Member care is essential to maintaining healthy, effective missionaries. These funds provide a time of refreshment and renewal for missionaries in the region. (Annual Goal $1,000)
     
   Latin America Inter-American Faith and Action Forum (42.30403)
  This forum trains church workers in Latin America to understand and apply the theological distinctives of the Church of God in the Latin American context. The program promotes and coordinates events for leadership training, evangelism, and community service in partnership with accredited congregations and parachurch organizations in North America. Funds provide need-based scholarships for Latin American church workers participating in IFFA-sponsored events, and they cover travel expenses for Latin American instructors teaching at IFFA-sponsored events. (Annual Goal $5,000)
     
  Latin America—Mission (42.30994)
  While traveling throughout Latin America, the regional coordinator sees firsthand both opportunities and needs. This project allows the regional coordinator to respond immediately and provide assistance to some of the most exciting ministry opportunities. (Annual Goal $4,200)

Argentina

   
   Argentina Leadership Development/Discipleship (42.30010)
  The Church of God in Argentina celebrated eighty years of existence in 2007, renewing its commitment to prepare future generations of Christian servants to reach its nation with the gospel. This commitment entails, among other things, reopening the Posadas Theological Institute for training evangelists and pastors. Donations will support academic programs, library and study materials, and capital improvements. (Annual Goal $3,000)

Belize

   
   Belize Community Development (42.40050)
  Funds supply relief to victims of natural disasters and underwrite community health and development projects. Some assistance goes to low income high school students for books, uniforms, bus fare, and lunch, as well as providing training workshops for rural teachers. (Annual Goal $3,600)

Bolivia

   
   Bolivia Leadership Development (42.30047)
  The church’s greatest strength is its zeal for evangelism and church planting. Believers devote much time to witnessing and participating in evangelistic campaigns in neighboring communities. Leadership training is a priority as the church provides leaders for 235 congregations. (Annual Goal $1,300)
     
   Bolivia Church Planting (42.40060)
  Provides matching funds to help urban congregations purchase construction materials to complete or expand meeting facilities. Over the years, investment has stimulated urban church planting in La Paz, Oruro, Cochabamba, and Santa Cruz, which are now among the largest congregations in the country. Funds are awarded to qualifying congregations by decision of the Bolivian national assembly. (Annual Goal $6,000)

Brazil—Amazonia

 
  Brazil—Amazonia Evangelism/Discipleship (42.30060)
  Leadership and evangelism are taken seriously in northern Brazil. There are five new church starts in locations where the Church of God did not exist ten years ago. Four more locations are ready to start new churches, but leaders are not yet available. Funds are needed for scholarships for training new leaders to assume these positions. (Annual Goal $13,290)
     
   Brazil—Amazonia Theological Institution (42.30067)
  Boa Terra na Amazonia educates and trains students to plant churches. Many Church of God congregations are led by pastors who graduated from this theological institution. This new seminary is still developing and needs equipment and resources. A special goal this year is to upgrade the seminary library. (Annual Goal $2,630)
     
   Brazil—Amazonia Ministry Development (42.40086)
  The Church of God in northern Brazil is growing rapidly. Several new church plants are in development phases. They lack equipment and resources (e.g., songbooks, blackboards, materials for study, reproduction equipment, chairs). Many of these churches and pastors are in isolated areas and do not have access to needed assistance. (Annual Goal $18,000)
     
  Brazil Northeast Leader Development (42.30050)
  Support is given through training leaders in the Escola Discipulos de Jesus (Jesus Disciples School) and providing assistance to apprentices-in-ministry, who also study in ministerial education institutions of the wider evangelical community. This backing is vital as we work to develop strong, responsible leaders in northeast Brazil. (Annual Goal $8,270)
     
  Brazil Northeast Church Planting—Natal (42.40070)
  Led by a team of young northeastern Brazilians, a cluster of still-beginning churches has completed the regional headquarters and leader development school. They are currently strategizing to reach out and establish other churches in new agrarian reform settlements and the strategic city of Salvador, Bahia. Church buildings host community meetings and kindergartens as well as sewing, computer, and handicraft classes. (Annual Goal $18,000)

Chile

   
  Chile Scholarships for Leadership Development (42.30100)
  Chile Scholarships for Leadership Studies 42.30100
The youngest national church in Latin America is growing under the leadership of eager young men and women who are answering the call of God. Most hold down full-time jobs while evangelizing Chile’s urban neighborhoods and planting new churches. Scholarships will allow them to pursue educational and professional goals to enhance their ministry. (Annual Goal $3,000)

Costa Rica

 
   Costa Rica Evangelism/Discipleship (42.30126)
  Discipling and mentoring young leaders is a high priority as churches work to reach their neighbors for Christ. The Costa Rican church is now supporting leaders sent to plant the Church of God in Nicaragua. (Annual Goal $6,312)
     
  Costa Rica New Church Plants (42.40121)
  This project provides a start-up budget to cover salary, travel expenses, and initial outlays for new church plants. Costa Rican church planter Filiberto Irola heads this initiative. Some funds underwrite pastoral training scholarships for present and future ministers. (Annual Goal $8,200)

Cuba

 
   Cuba Church Planting (42.30142)
  In order to establish new congregations, national churches must surmount constantly changing government regulations that control public worship. Costs include expenses for property purchase or rental, and legal fees, in addition to normal administrative outlays. Despite the challenges, the Cuban church continues to grow. (Annual Goal $1,000)
     
  Cuba Leadership Development (42.30145)
  Regla Pedroso, rector of the School of Biblical Theology, travels the island coordinating a network of teachers and conducting weeklong workshops to equip the many workers needed to staff Cuba’s growing churches. This project underwrites class expenses, travel, lodging, and food for students and teachers. (Annual Goal $3,500)

Dominican Republic

 
   Dominican Republic Leadership Development (42.30152)
  Pastor Gerardo Taron guides strategic planning for the development of the church and its leaders through regular workshops for pastors and leaders. (Annual Goal $1,000)
     
  Domincan Republic Church Planting (42.30155)
  Costs to begin new churches include property and legal fees, equipment, and furnishings for the new congregation. Funds also provide support for national leadership. (Annual Goal $1,000)

Ecuador

   
  Ecuador Leadership Development (42.30165)
  Started in 1986, the church in Ecuador is growing rapidly. This project funds the development of leadership training materials and covers the costs of seminars, including travel, room, and board for participants. (Annual Goal $3,900)
     
  Ecuador Church Planting/Construction (42.40190)
  This project helps buy materials for construction of new church buildings, purchase land for new construction, and provide for skilled workers. Advance funds allow project managers to have materials ready and on site when work campers arrive. Churches receiving materials must collaborate in the construction effort by giving time or offerings. (Annual Goal $12,000)
     
  Ecuador Seminary Program Funds (42.40192)
  Funds are used to buy seminary textbooks and books for the National Seminary Library located in the seminary building. They also provide construction materials for completing the seminary building in Quito and buy furnishings for dorm rooms and library. Upgrades to the building are mandated by a stricter Quito municipal building code. (Annual Goal $4,000)
     
  Ecuador Ministry Outreach (42.40194)
  Funds help facilitate the ministry of the church in Ecuador. Medical care is expensive and nearly unavailable for pastors. Donations have paid for surgeries, births, prescription medicine, and even coffins. Funds also are invested to develop a national youth convention and youth seminars. (Annual Goal $6,650)

Guatemala

   
  Guatemala Leadership Development (42.40236)
  The Church of God in Guatemala, as of June 2007, has more than 120 pastors. When leaders and national evangelists are added, the numbers are even higher. Promoting, supporting, and supplying extension seminaries and Sunday schools necessitate travel of more than 100,000 kilometers a year. Budget goes toward covering travel costs to keep up with increasing leadership training needs. (Annual Goal $2,200)

Honduras

   
   Honduras Church Construction (42.40255)
  A new church in Santa Cruz de Yojoa is currently under construction, and the Villas del Carmen congregation is nearing completion of classrooms, a parsonage, and a welding school. The La Ceiba Church of God is in the initial stages of preparing an elementary school building. To date, the local church has supplied most of the necessary resources, reports national leader Donny Allen. (Annual Goal $1,000)

Mexico

   
   Mexico Northeast Theological Institute (42.30370)
  El Instituto La Buena Tierra in Saltillo celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2004. Funds help with administrative and operational costs of the school. (Annual Goal $6,000)

Nicaragua

  Nicaragua New Church Plants (42.40123)
  Funds help purchase building sites and construction materials for new church plants supervised by national missionary Guillermo Herrera Moncada. Funds underwrite salary, travel expenses, and other initial outlays. (Annual Goal $18,000)

Panama

 
  Panama Leadership Development (42.30445)
  The Church of God in Panama is seeing renewal nearly one hundred years after it was established through the influence of the Gospel Trumpet. Veteran pastors from neighboring Costa Rica are helping conduct training schools for young evangelists and Bible teachers. The five congregations on the isthmus have rallied to sponsor an International Kingdom Workers Forum, renovating the Nueva Providencia retreat center in the process. (Annual Goal 1,000)

Paraguay

 
   Paraguay Asunción Youth Outreach (42.30450)
  Training workshops and seminars are provided for young leaders. Costs include travel expenses and room and board for participants and teachers. (Annual Goal $14,500)
     
   Paraguay Ciudad del Este Church Plant (42.40427)
  Church planting activities are now in the fifth year, with pastors Alcirio and Marise Hobus and copastors Augusto and Teresa Roa conducting worship services, small groups, children and youth programs, and evangelistic campaigns. “The church is growing in zeal, maturity, and numbers. We praise God for this,” write pioneer missionaries Martin and Tabitha Kurrle. (Annual Goal $18,000)
     
  Paraguay Encarnación Church Plant (42.40428)
  This congregation, one of the fastest growing in the country, meets in a borrowed auditorium and is looking for an appropriate city plot on which to build. Pastor Donald Franz has local daily radio programs and has established a preaching point in Ita Paso, where three hundred children receive noon meals at the recently completed Church of God all-purpose building. (Annual Goal $12,000)
     
   Paraguay Obligado Radio Station (42.40429)
  This Christian radio station reaches into thousands of homes within a thirty-mile radius in Paraguay and neighboring Argentina. Quality Christian programs are broadcast twenty-four hours a day. The station also organizes marriage seminars and activities for children and youth and transmits frequent testimonies of people whose lives have been changed by the gospel. (Annual Goal $11,130)

Peru

 
  Peru Christian Elementary School (Chepen) (42.40591)
 

Founded on November 8, 2000, under the triple theme of “Study, Serve, Share,” the Daniel Sidney Warner Elementary School currently has eighty-two students studying in kindergarten through fifth grade. The development plan calls for expanding into secondary school while completing the four-story classroom building. Current donations will help complete the interior of the third story and purchase computers for teaching information technology. (Annual Goal $6,000)

Uruguay

 
   Uruguay National Leaders/Workers (42.30630)
  The Church of God began in Uruguay in 1971. Jesús Acosta is the national leader for the three congregations. Support is provided for pastoral leadership and national office expenses. (Annual Goal $2,100)
     
   Uruguay Church Construction (42.40535)
  The Montevideo Church of God is raising capital to expand its building, which is both meeting place and pastor’s residence. The immediate goal is to add bathroom facilities and a second bedroom to the parsonage area. (Annual Goal $1,000)

Venezuela

   
  Venezuela Church Planting (42.30642)
  The Church of God started in Venezuela in 1979. There are currently twenty-one congregations. Former missionaries have encouraged church planting. The vision has been cast. Some recent church plants are among the Indians. (Annual Goal $6,000)
   
   Venezuela Leadership Development (42.30645)
  Young leaders are being trained and mentored to pastor new churches. This project provides materials and covers costs related to training seminars. (Annual Goal $1,000)
